Who We Are
Women of Excellence is a yearlong series of classes that women can join at any time. Groups meet throughout the week at times set by each group leader to meet the variety of needs and lifestyles of women today. At the end of the process the women who complete the course will be commissioned by the Senior Pastor and the Women of Excellence Director as a Women of Excellence.
Founder & Pastor Margaret Rodgers
The founder of Women of Excellence is Pastor Margaret Rodgers. With over 30 years in ministry, a working wife, 3 children, and two grandchildren, Margaret understands pressures facing women today. Her creative teaching and fresh insight into God's Word both instruct and challenge the hearts of people in various areas of life. Living in Louisville, KY, Margaret and her husband, Dr. Bob Rodgers are the pastors of Evangel World Prayer Center, one of the nation's premier cutting-edge churches. Together they are establishing Christian TV and Radio stations worldwide. She is a host of "Word Alive" on WBNA TV21. Margaret is the founder of Keepers of the Word Women's Ministry, and is a frequent speaker at conferences, political events and rallies. With a focus on prayer and an anointing of the Holy Spirit to bring healing to the heart, her ministry assures enrichment and renewed hope.
National Director Monica Freeman
Monica has worked in ministry for over 25 years in a variety of capacities from Children's Director, Associational VBS Director for 23 Churches, Educational Director, Bible Study Teacher, to Co-Pastor in three Baptist Churches. Monica has a Merchandising degree from the University of Kentucky, and has also attended Southern Baptist Theological Seminary and Regent University in Virginia Beach, Virginia. She is a published author of "Stepping Out, From Self Seeking to Joy Reaping". With her relentless energy she is currently on staff as a District Pastor and the Director Women of Excellence at Evangel World Prayer Center in Louisville, KY, under the direction of Pastor Margaret Rodgers. Monica is also the Director of Women of Excellence National. Her greatest passion is for the Lord to greatly expand the stakes of our WE National tent so that more lives can be forever changed and more women can share an abundant life in HIM!
Christian first, wife second, mother and grandmother third; all else pales by comparison. Lisa and her husband Philip have been on the Deacon Board of Evangel World Prayer Center for over 20 years. She has held the position of Women’s Ministry Coordinator and volunteered in many areas of the church. Living a life that is centered in Christ is one of her main goals. Author, teacher, WE National Team member are all things that help mold who Lisa is. Lisa has led a WE group since the inception. She has been married for 26 wonderful years and counting. They have two children who are married to incredible people that they call theirs, too. They have one granddaughter that the Lord has graciously blessed our family with, so far. Lisa received the Lord Jesus into her heart at an early age, and He has kept her and guarded all of her life.
Christ is first and foremost in Gwenevere’s life, she is also a devoted wife, mother and grandmother. Gwenevere is blessed to be the proud mother of 2 daughters, 1 step-daughter and 2 sons. The ever widening circle includes a wonderful daughter-in-law, son-in-law and 6 precious grandchildren. She has faithfully been a WE Leader since it was formed here. She uses her spiritual gifts in whatever areas God directs her, which includes teaching and encouraging others as well as serving on the WE National Team. Professionally, she is a Human Resources Manager and a Leadership Training Coach. Gwenevere holds Leadership positions on several non-profit Boards of Directors.The Lord spoke to her through Esther 4:14 and revealed that “you have been called for such a time as this”. Gwenevere continually strives to be in the perfect will of God in everything that she does.
Evelyn L. Kuhn
Evelyn L. Kuhn is an Ordained Minister, Women of Excellence National Board Member, Deaconess, 2008 Altar Worker of the Year, wife for 10 years and mother of two young boys. Evelyn has a Bachelor of Arts Degree from Indiana University, plus three years post-graduate work at the University of Louisville. Evelyn works in the marketplace, as a Corporate Marketing Office Manager for seven universities and three retail businesses. She has served as a Graphic Designer and Marketing Coordinator, volunteering services for various church ministry groups. Evelyn has served with many EWPC ministries for over 14 years: as a Women of Excellence Leader for 3 years, Leader of 12 Altar Workers, and volunteered in many other areas of the church. Her “heart” is helping women to grow in their God-Given gifts and talents to accomplish His perfect will, plan and purpose for their lives, with the most important result bringing souls into the Kingdom of God!
Robyn and her husband, Pastor Kevin McKnight, have served as Associate Pastors at Evangel World Prayer Center for the past 25 plus years. They recently celebrated their 25th wedding anniversary and have 3 children, two of which still live at home, the other married and expecting their first grandchild. Robyn is a vital member of Evangel Women’s Ministries leadership and has always demonstrated a level of excellence that has encouraged the entire church body. Her leadership and dedication to her family are just a few attributes of this great lady. She has been a Christian and felt the call of God on her life at a young age and the Women of Excellence National leadership team is so thankful for all that she does.
Corporate Events Manager/WE Director of Development & Special Events
With over 10 years of event marketing experience, Bettina is currently the Corporate Events Manager for Peak 10 Data Center overseeing event coordinators in 10 markets. She has developed a successful track record as a results-driven leader with a background in strategic planning, sponsor satisfaction & seamless event execution. Beforehand she was Director of VIP Relations for Peak 10-Louisville, the liaison for VIP clients, planning technology series and “invitation-only” events.
Previously at Quilogy, she assisted in the development of a new healthcare IT practice that grew from zero to over $4MM in one year. Bettina’s project management of events included working on national conferences with vendors including Microsoft, MSHUG & HIMSS.
In her spare time Bettina fulfills her passion of helping women, currently serving as Director of Development and Special Events for Women of Excellence National. Formerly Bettina served on staff at EWPC for 7 years directing special events and as a District Pastor. Bettina’s transparency in sharing real issues allows her to connect with women of all walks of life. She serves on the women’s ministry leadership team, has led numerous women’s groups and is a speaker, teacher and an aspiring author with a calling and heart for encouraging women.
